🏔️BC Parks Scanner

Hey everyone,

When I started this project, it was to solve a simple problem and help fellow hikers. I'm incredibly proud of the community that used this tool to get out on the trail.

Unfortunately, after another round of technical roadblocks put in place by BC Parks, it's clear that maintaining the scanner is no longer sustainable. The constant effort to work around these blocks has taken the joy out of this passion project.

For this reason, the scanners for Garibaldi, Golden Ears, and Joffre Lakes will no longer be updated. The Buntzen Lake scanner will remain active, as it uses a different system.

Thank you for every visit, every message of support, and for sharing in the adventure. I hope this tool helped you create some great memories.

Hi! 👋 My name is Vadim.


A couple years back, my wife asked me to book a pass for Joffre Lakes. I woke up at 6:45, opened my laptop, started reading the news, and... realized it was 7:07 already, and all the passes were gone. To make up for my mistake, I wrote a script that checked the BC Parks website and showed me when someone cancels. In several hours, a spot appeared, and I booked a pass for us.


That gave me an idea for this website — the place where hikers can see cancellations without having to constantly refresh the page. I hope it will help you too.
